Requirements for Participation
Academic Eligibility
- Students must be in good standing academically (which means they have failed no classes
the previous marking period) in order to participate.
Updated Physicals
- Each student must have an up-to-date physical on file in the Nurse’s Office. The date of
the physical must be within thirteen months of the start of the current sport season. It is recommended that each student bring in a copy of their updated physical to the Nurse’s Office on or before the first day of tryouts each season.
Permission Slips
- Each student must have a permission slip filled out and signed by a parent/guardian, signed
by the school nurse, and turned into the Athletic Office on or before the first day of tryouts. Permission Slips can be picked up in the Athletic Office during school hours.
User Fee
- The User Fee is $100 per family per season, and is due within a week after the start of each
sport season. The User Fee helps incur the cost of officials, transportation, and equipment. Please contact Mr. Arria in the Athletic Office if there is any issue concerning the user fee.
If one of the requirements above is not fulfilled, permission to participate in athletics will not be granted.
Transfer Students
- If a student is new to Matignon High School, and is not an incoming freshman they are
considered a transfer by the MIAA (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association). If a transfer student wishes to participate in athletics, they must see Mr. Arria in the Athletic Office as soon as possible.
International Students
- Any International Students wishing to participate in athletics must see Mr. Arria in the
